As the Controller, you’ll play a key role in leading the accounting function, partnering with operations, and driving financial integrity and performance across the organization. You’ll report to the Chief Financial Officer and will have the opportunity to influence business decisions, strengthen financial processes, and support the organization through change and growth.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead all core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue recognition.
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Drive the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong internal controls.
- Analyze financial results, explain variances versus prior year, plan, and forecast, and contribute to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting presentations.
- Act as a financial business partner to operational leaders, providing insight, guidance, and decision support to drive effective business outcomes.
- Support cash flow forecasting, covenant compliance, annual budgeting, and periodic forecasting processes.
- Manage and support external audit activities and serve as the primary audit liaison.
- Oversee commission calculations, benefits reporting, and reconciliations.
- Manage and review payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee tax compliance activities, including sales/use and payroll tax filings and payments.
- Manage the close-out of the ESOP plan.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives that enhance efficiency and controls at the site level.
- Serve as a leader in helping the organization adapt to change in a positive and constructive manner.
- Support additional finance and accounting projects as needed.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business field (required).
- MBA, CPA, or CMA (preferred but not required).
- 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including proven success as a Controller or similar leadership role in a small to mid-sized organization.
- Strong proficiency with accounting systems (Microsoft Business Central experience preferred).
- Demonstrated people leadership and talent development experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking in a dynamic environment.
- A continuous-improvement mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
