We’re excited to support a company recognized for its passionate, mission-driven culture and commitment to excellence in pet nutrition in their search for a strategic and hands-on Maintenance Manager to join their onsite team in Oak Creek, WI.

As the Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a key role in transforming the maintenance organization from reactive to proactive, building a data-driven, reliability-centered function. You’ll report to the plant leadership and will have the opportunity to drive operational excellence, reduce downtime, and influence plant-wide improvements in maintenance strategy.

This is a chance to bring your expertise to a company that values continuous improvement, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration, where your contributions truly make a difference.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the maintenance department, including staff and contractors, through delegation, process development, and clear accountability.
  • Design, implement, and standardize preventive and predictive maintenance programs to shift from reactive to proactive maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics (KPIs) such as PM compliance, MTBF, MTTR, labor utilization, and cost performance.
  • Build a maintenance dashboard and integrate data into decision-making to ensure visibility and drive improvements.
  • Establish and sustain an organized spare parts and inventory control system within CMMS (e.g., eMaint).
  • Champion root cause analysis (RCA) to understand equipment failures and prevent recurrence.
  • Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement (5S, CI, TPM) across the maintenance team.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering to analyze and correct production problems with engineering considerations.
  • Oversee budget for maintenance cost centers, labor, and utilities, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Lead and develop maintenance technicians through coaching, structure, and performance management.
  • Support and maintain facility infrastructure to maximize operational performance and product quality.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, electrical, food processing) or at least 10 years of maintenance experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience at the manager level or above.
  • At least 10 years in maintenance, with proven experience in designing and executing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a maintenance budget and forecast costs.
  • Strong analytical, communication, computer (CMMS), and leadership skills.
  • Experience using root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule (overtime, weekends, shift work) as needed.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

Highlights include:

  • 401K with company match
  • A culture rooted in teamwork, accountability, and doing what's right for pets and their people
  • A collaborative leadership team that values transparency, integrity, and operational excellence
  • Bring your pet to work!
